Testing...One...Two...Three

Have you ever wondered if people really hear you? Is what you say of enough importance for people to listen and take notice? That is a question most public speakers face every time they stand in front of a new group.  Each Monday morning, many pastors sit in their offices thinking about that question as they review the message from their Sunday services. Did they listen? Will they do what I encourage them to do?

Speaking at a Crusade in Russia

For many years, Jill and I have crossed Russia/Latvija teaching people the Word of God. Did they listen? By the accounts of the past few months, the clear answer is, "Yes". They listened.

Since mid-February we have had the honor to walk alongside many former students in their present ministries. We have witnessed first hand those we helped empower as they now minister to others. What a joy to see how God is using them. 

The Bible tells us, "One plants, one waters and God gives the increase". As we are obedient to the call of God, serve others and speak life to them, God will bless that seed and it will grow. They will listen.

My grandfather was a farmer. Each spring he planted seed in faith of a harvest. Never did he worry about if the seed would grow or not. He understood the laws of nature. If you plant it, care for it and water comes at proper time, it will grow. I remember much about my grandfather. In those fond memories, I do not remember him worrying about if the seed would grow.

Plant the Word, speak the Word and it will grow. They will listen.

Have suitcase, will travel!

The encouragement comes to us in scripture with these great words: "Do not become weary in well doing."  Today if your worry is focused on the question of 'listening', take heart, they do and it will produce a harvest.

I am encouraged by the fruit I have witnessed these past months here in Eastern Europe. We have also planted brand new seed. I know a harvest is coming.  I believe they listened!
