Seaside, OR

It is here...missions journey 2013!

This is the fifth time I have ventured on a epic trip across miles of interesting and challenging roads. Each time brings fun experiences along with a host of new friends. Already I have met Pat, a wonderful host along with her beautiful lab, Annie, who has allowed us to crash at her family home next to the sea where we launch from tomorrow.

Pat is a bicycle enthusiast that knows the ups and downs of these journeys. Although not riding to much these days, she opens her home up for bicyclists to get a restful nights sleep and share in a few good stories. I want to say a special "Thanks" to Pat and Annie for their kindness. If the rest of our journey comes anything close to this, we will be truly blessed.

Life is full of exciting chapters. Each day brings a new adventure filled with surprises. I must say, I like it that way. Not knowing what the next corner brings helps us stay alert and focused. Nothing is more boring than knowing the end of a story before you get there. Suspense keeps us on our toes, and we all need that!

Tomorrow at 7:00 a.m. we will leave Pat and Annie in this little town next to the sea to discover what is down the road. We hope to find more "Pat's" along the way, but we don't know. So, there is the suspense. Whatever comes, we know God is with us on the road. Together we can face each corner with confidence.

Until tomorrow, enjoy the ride, watch for those you can help and those who you will receive from, and trust God at each corner.

Happy trails-

What a great way to kick off our year of visiting our supporting churches! Ride safe and strong, honey!
